Job Title: Community Development Liaison 

 

Summary:

 

The Community Development Liaison supports the Program Manager of the CT Municipal Development Authority (CMDA), a quasi-public organization, in all areas of member municipal partnerships and Board/Council governance.  The Community Development Liaison supports the Authority’s governance and board engagement, helps foster positive working relationships with Member and prospective Member Municipalities, and supports CMDA and its consultants in the delivery of technical assistance and infrastructure funding to member municipalities. Additionally, the Community Development Liaison provides support to the Council on Housing Development given CMDA’s role as staff to the Council.   

 

The Community Development Liaison will report directly to the Program Manager and is subject to all parameters of the CMDA Employee Handbook. 

 

The Board-approved salary range for this position is: $75,000 - $100,000

 

The position is entitled to robust benefits including enrollment in Connecticut’s state employee health insurance and Tier IV of the State Employees Retirement System.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

·      Draft Board and Council meeting agendas, attend Board and Council meetings, and draft Board and Council meeting minutes

 

·      Maintains public Board meeting calendar and post online Board meeting notices, agenda, minutes, and records of votes

 

·      Supports Program Manager in managing Authority’s communications, website and social media conducted by its communications consultant

 

·      Supports Program Manager in management of relationships and projects with member municipalities

 

·      Provides member municipalities with technical assistance and aids on-call consultants performance of same

 

·      Any and all other tasks as assigned

Education and/or Experience: 

·      Bachelor's degree in relevant area of study or any equivalent combination of work, certification, or education

·      Demonstrated experience working for or with municipalities on planning, housing and/or economic development or commensurate experience or comparable coursework

·      Strong presentation, writing, research, and organizational skills

·      Experience with zoning regulations, GIS, and/or the display of geographic and quantitative data preferred

·      A self-motivated, well-organized individual who is a team player, possesses excellent communication skills, flexibility and is committed to CMDA’s mission
