Molly Spino

Mayor, City of Torrington

Mayor Molly E. Spino was elected Mayor of the City of Torrington in 2025 and is currently serving her first term. As Mayor, she oversees municipal operations, budgeting, and policy implementation, with a focus on strengthening public safety, advancing economic development, improving infrastructure, and maintaining open and transparent communication with residents.

Prior to becoming Mayor, Molly spent more than a decade as a Senior Paralegal at James G. Kelly Law Offices, where she managed real estate transactions, probate matters, and day-to-day legal operations. She also proudly served in the United States Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, an experience that instilled the leadership, discipline, and commitment to service that continue to guide her approach to public office.

Molly earned a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies, summa cum laude, from Post University in 2014. She was recognized as a University Scholar and inducted into the Alpha Chi National Honor Society. She later pursued studies in Urban and Community Studies at the University of Connecticut, further expanding her knowledge of municipal development, community planning, and the issues facing cities and neighborhoods.

Molly has a long history of service to the Torrington community. Prior to becoming Mayor, she served on the Torrington City Council, Board of Public Safety, Economic Development Commission, and Board of Education.

Her commitment to public service extends beyond City Hall. She currently serves as a Director of the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM), a Director of the Connecticut Interlocal Risk Management Agency (CIRMA), a Director of the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board, and a Board Member of the Connecticut Municipal Development Authority. She also serves as a Corporator of the Torrington Library and Brooker Memorial and as a Board Member at Large of the Torrington & Winsted Rotary Club.

Throughout her career, Molly has remained committed to serving her community, strengthening Torrington’s future, and ensuring that local government remains responsive, accountable, and accessible to the people it serves.
