Garrett Eucalitto

Commissioner, Connecticut DOT

Garrett T. Eucalitto was confirmed as Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) in January 2023. As Commissioner he oversees an agency tasked with the responsibility of providing a safe and efficient intermodal transportation network that improves the quality of life for all. In this capacity he administers a nearly $3 billion annual budget and works alongside over 3,300 colleagues at CTDOT, making it one of Connecticut’s largest state agencies.

In addition to his role as Commissioner, he was selected by his peers to serve as President of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), is a member of the Executive Committee of the Transportation Research Board, serves as co-chair of the Northeast Corridor Commission, chairs the state’s Vision Zero Council, and previously served as President for the Northeast Association of State Transportation Officials (NASTO).

Prior to becoming Commissioner, Garrett served as Deputy Commissioner of CTDOT from January 2020 until January 2023. Before joining CTDOT, he was Transportation Program Director for the National Governors Association (NGA) in Washington, DC. He was responsible for assisting the nation’s 55 governors in advancing their policy objectives in transportation.
